Bog Turtle (Glyptemys muhlenbergii)
Today, HA has grown to meet the needs of a rapidly changing world while ensuring the protection of plants and wildlife. Our services have expanded to include consulting on a variety of plant, fish, invertebrate, amphibian, reptile, bird, and mammal species. State and federal agencies, non-profit groups, engineering firms, developers, and private citizens have come to rely on HA as a dependable source for all their environmental consulting needs.

Until recently herpetology (the study of reptiles and amphibians) has been a neglected area of science. There is now a great demand for knowledge about the needs of reptiles and amphibians, as well as numerous other associated plants and wildlife. HA is dedicated to the conservation and long-term survival of the organisms we study. We strive to create a balance between economic progress and smart conservation.

The bog turtle is the signature species of HA, and is a prime example of how we combine science with proposed development, by working with clients toward proper land use. Through years of study, our organization has helped to provide critical data on the needs of this species. Original research conducted in New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and North Carolina has equipped HA to provide rapid and effective recommendations for the protection of the this species. With state and federal agency review of HA's recommendations, development may proceed with the establishment of wetland buffers and the proper use of upland areas. Bog turtle surveys and research is not our only area of expertise.
