The Pine Barrens and Toms River Offices

The Pine Barrens Office and Library

Pine Barrens Office sign

In order to better serve our southern New Jersey clients, HA has a central Pine Barrens office in Pemberton, Burlington County, New Jersey. Our facility is located at 405 Magnolia Road, on 6.5 acres of mixed pine-oak forest and pitch pine lowlands. We have natural vernal ponds and old blueberry farm habitat with winding nature trails on our property. The diverse habitat supports many forms of native Pine Barrens plants and wildlife, especially snakes, turtles, and frogs.

Our office and library space is 2,500 square feet and is used as our laboratory and quarantine holding area for processing snakes. We also surgically implant radio transmitters in snakes, or attach them to turtle shells for radio-tracking studies. We also have a separate outbuilding that houses our snake and turtle exhibits for public education programs.

Dave Schneider manages the Pine Barrens office. Dave Burkett is our assistant regional manager and field technician for the Pine Barrens office. Robert T.  Zappalorti, Jr. offers technical support, and web design for all business operations at the corporate headquarters.

Toms River Office

HA’s President and CEO, Robert Zappalorti, Sr., operates out of this office. It’s where HA’s major projects are coordinated and managed. It is our planning and billing department, and where all invoices are generated and all our bills are paid. Reports for clients are written and finalized at this location and subsequently reviewed by staff before being submitted to our clients. Mr. Zappalorti has an extensive reference library to assist with report writing and scientific publications. There is also a temporary snake-holding laboratory for research at this office.

Wildlife Photography – Both 35 mm color slides and electronic digital pictures are stored at this office. Wildlife photos are available for sale to book publishers, magazine editors, or private individuals who need high-quality digital pictures for publication.
